As an information designer it is my core interest to represent the subject in a clever way in order to trigger attention and understanding within the target audience.

I develop clever concepts and stories, colourful illustrations and lively animation to communicate my client’s information. In my opinion content is key and the means of communication part of the right strategy. Therefore I started to present myself as an Information Designer instead of Art Director, Illustrator, Animator or Broadcast Designer. With a Bachelor of Design (Major Interaction Design), a Master of Science in Business Administration (Major Information and Data Management) and 14 years of work experience I’m able to offer a wide range of design skills and have the ability to dive into complex information quickly and profoundly.

While I wrote my Master’s Thesis on Data Visualization Literacy in Switzerland, I got totally hooked on Data Visualisation and hope to work on more data projects in the future.

At the moment I’m working part-time at EBP in Zurich (Switzerland) and spend the rest of the week with self-initiated projects or freelance work.

Expertise

I often work on a project from pitch till delivery, therefore I’m familiar with each individual production step from research to realisation.

Research

During research I dig deep into a topic or a visual world to get a precise idea. I love to share and discuss my finds with the team and the client, as they form the basis for a inspiring brainstorming process.

Concept

After extensive research and brainstorming I condense all inputs into an interesting and clever concept. I use storyboards and sketches to explain my idea which I like to develop further in an iterative process.

Design

To develop the suitable style for a project I use digital as well as analogue design methods. I design logos, icons, characters or complete visual worlds and concepts.

Realisation

Some stories are told easier by the use of interaction, animation or a sequence of pictures. That’s why the timeline is one of my favourite creative tools.
